TGIF

Note the very original title for a Friday post! Today was a nice day at work. No kids, and no home visits. Just prep time. I got lots accomplished. We had a lot of laughs, and then went for our typical Friday “Happy Panda” (Chinese Food) lunch. After work, I went to the Dollar Store to pick up craft things for work, and then went shoe shopping. What’s not to love??

Except, I got home around 5:00, and hubby arrived shortly thereafter. OMG was that man crabby!! Acckkk! I know he hates his current assignment at work, but holy sheep shit! I think I’ll just hide upstairs today!

Where Did It Go?

I could have sworn I posted an entry this morning, but obviously I only thought about it. The Elton John concert was fabulous! He is the most amazing pianist that even if he wasn’t singing it was purely entertaining! The only annoying thing about the evening was the fact that we had 5 drunk women sitting in front of us waving their cell phones in the air half the night. Eventually they stood up and danced so we couldn’t see shit. The only good part about it was laughing at one of them that had absolutely NO rhythm! hee

Coming home from the concert, we were lifting to the Oilers post-game show on the radio, and when the play-by-play guy was signing off, he was reading the credits, and then he said, “and our producers, Syd LASTNAME & Ben LASTNAME! Very cool! Our young son is “famous”. LOL of course I had to phone him and tell him how cool I thought it was.

Currently, I am STARVING! Hubby is coming home with Chinese food “soon”.

Apparently He’s Not Happy With His Latest Photos!

I’ve been working my buns off all day, doing housework while hubby was at work. It’s very hot here today, so I baked my buns off!! I’m just waiting to cool down a bit, and then finish the last little bit, and then I’m going to have a shower, and sit on my ass the rest of the day! Ben and Jess spent the night, and they’re having dinner here later as well. I’m not sure if Sarah is coming out or not. She’s been working nights, and I know she usually has a soccer practice on Sunday nights, so often can’t make it out for dinner.

Jay is also coming into town tonight, as he bought a condo last night! Sarah and her agent have been looking for him for about a month. As fast as they are listed, they’re sold! For thousands above asking price. So with Jay wanting to come and see any Sarah thought were good, it was pointless, so she finally said to him, “Look, you’ve either got to trust me on this and put in an offer, or just forget it. He decided to go for it. Sarah said it’s beautiful, in a good location, and recently renovated. He gets to look first hand tomorrow morning. He takes possession on July 31. He had to pay $17,000 above list price, as there were 8 offers in on it! Sarah’s agent figures hers has already gone up about $30,000 since she bought it in January. Also, taking into account that we painted the whole thing, and she bought all new appliances!

Hubby goes out of town tomorrow until Wednesday night, which is just as well, as the last 3 days with kids at school are always pretty crazy! 5 more days of work and then I’m off for the summer! Wooot! Boy do I need to rip into this house!! I should do a lot of painting too, but I guess I’ll just see how the summer goes. I really don’t want to be spending any extra money while I’m unemployed, as I still have to make my Jeep payments. Always a downside to unemployment! hmmmph!

Heading Down The Highway

I was a cleaning machine yesterday! I did our bedroom from top to bottom. Washed all the bedding, moved the furniture around, and did a thorough cleaning. I didn’t do the closet, because I’ll do that when I shuffle all the winter clothes out of there and bring on Spring!

I’m going to drive Baby down to my Mom’s to show her off. Mom also got a new car a few months ago after she got schmucked by a young kid. She bought herself a little Sunfire, which she’s really enjoying. She hardly drives anymore, so it’s perfect for her.

I haven’t seen Mom since Christmas. Yes, I’m a bad daughter, but sometimes, it’s just too hard to deal with the “comments”.

No Excitement Around Here!

Last night we went out to dinner and to the Oilers game. Too bad the team forgot to show up! Grrrrrrrr I hate losing!

Today was a good one at work. This afternoon we took the kids sledding again, and Conner and Aiden were sharing a inner tube. Last time we went, Aiden bawled nearly the whole time, and threw a temper tantrum over having to walk back up the hill, she wanted to be carried, and in general, she was just a PITA. Before we went out today, I warned her…. “No Boohooing, or you’re coming back inside!”

Her and Conner went flying down the hill, laughing and squealing all the while. He carried the sled back up, and she walked along with him. Next time, he held her hand, and carried the sled back up. The next time, she helped him carry it back up!! The very last time, They were on their way up the hill, Conner stopped, put down the sled, took off his hat, and bent down and picked up Aiden’s mitt for her. It was soooooooooo cute!! Being that Conner is autistic, he isn’t especially known for noticing other people around him. He’s really coming out of that though now, and it’s really fun to see!

Sarah’s temporary full time contract is up in another month, and she is hoping to get another temporary contract (another mat leave) position. It’s only a .7, so it would give her more flexibility to get time off in the summer, plus to take overtime shifts. She’ll still get her benefits though, so I guess she’ll hear about that in a month or two. Jess also has an interview on Friday for a job at the grocery store in town. Right now she’s working weekends at one of the liquor stores, so she’s hoping to get this too, as this would be during the weekdays.

I washed my poor Baby Jeep today as it was FILTHY!!! Do you realize that we had NO winter here until I bought her!! LMAO It’s like Mother Nature is making me test her out! Today there were 6 carss in the ditch on the way to work. It sounds like we’re going to get a big dump of snow again on the weekend.

My Horoscope

Pampering is the order of the day. If you can’t immediately get away to a luxurious resort hotel, find little ways to indulge in luxury, from a flavored latte to a few moments in a sunny park before work.

I’m Procrastinating - AGAIN!

I’m posting as a way of stalling. So far, I’ve stripped two beds and washed the linens. I’ve made my hair/eyebrow appointment. I picked up a few groceries for supper. I shipped some ebay packages. I bought more shipping supplies to mail the 16 items that end today. BLECH! I’ve weeded the flowerbed, and got the dishwasher running.

But NOW I have to go down into the bowels of the house known as the “stoop-ed” crawl space. It’s not dirt or anything, it’s the size of over half our house, it’s all cement, painted floor etc, and it has about 6 ft. high ceilings, BETWEEN the beams. So you have to aim your head carefully, or you bang the shit out of your noggin!

Hubby emptied it of all boxes, and all the broken TV’s, computer equipment, etc that a person saves for GAWD knows what reason. He took all that stuff to the dump this spring. He also carried all the boxes out to the garage, and I’m supposed to sort through them all. Ahemmmm…. So he’s done the worst of it.

Right now, no I mean it… right now, I’m going down to dust all the cobwebs out of the rafters, vacuum and wash the floors, and then organize the things that we left down there, in readiness for all the boxes that I am going to sort through before I go back to work….. NO REALLY.

So if you hear WHAP! “Fuck!”, WHAP! “Fuck!”, WHAP! “Fuck!”, WHAP! “Fuck!”, WHAP! “Fuck!”, you’ll know it’s me and my noggin cleaning the crawl space!

The Push Begins

After my lazy weekend, I busted my buns today! I cleaned both upstairs bathrooms. Did 6 months worth of filing. Then I shampooed the carpet in our bedroom, hallways, stairway (torture) and entryway. I hate doing the stairway. It’s so awkward, and my machine is a bit too big to be able to do a very great job. If it’s not good, I’ll have to break down and hire someone to do the stairway.

I vacuumed and dusted the rest of the main floor, and then washed all the hardwood. I also did copious quantities of laundry. By the time I was finished, I could hardly straighten up. My back really seizes up when I do a lot of work in that kind of semi bent-over position, because I’m so tall. I finally had a bit of lunch, put the rooms back together, watered the outside flowers, and then had a much-needed lovely hot shower. Then I phoned hubby and asked him to pick up dinner, because I took some Celebrex, and am laying down to see if my back will loosen. You know it sucks to get old and rickety!

Tomorrow’s task is the basement, and hopefully the garage. I need to make a hair and eyebrow appointment for later in the week too. I have to ship all that Ebay shit, clean the inside of my car, go shopping for some new slacks for school, and lord knows what else that I’ve been putting off all summer! *w*

Sucks to be a procrastinator! I wonder if I can get in shape and lose 20 pounds by Monday like I had planned for the summer??!!

Doctor’s Visit

doc.jpgHere’s where I spent my morning, or part thereof. Just to get a refill of my arthritis medication! Hmmph! So while I was in there complaining about the lumps on my elbows, by out of whack thermostat, and various other bodily nuisances, he decided I have to have a multitude of blood tests. So I’ll get that done in the the next week, and then I have to go back for a complete physical at the end of the month, and ladies we all know what THAT means! Pffffft!

My Brother

The guy on the left is my “baby” brother, Steve, and some of his friends at their 25th High School Reunion. He’s single, never married, and no… not gay. Just fussy.
