Interview

I was interviewed by Miss Prissy.

1.How, when, where, did you meet your husband?

I met my husband in 1977 at work, and then later at a party that some of us from work were attending. I worked with 2 of his childhood buddies, who were quite a bit older than us. I was the youngest in the company at that time (18 or 19), and I was joking around about him being another “youngster”. Of course our big mouth mutual friends told him, and made it sound like I was interested in him. A few weeks later, we hooked up at a Grey Cup (Canadian Superbowl) party, and we’ve been together ever since. This was at the end of November. We got engaged in April of ‘78, and married in December of 1978, so we will celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary, and hubby’s 50th birthday (2 days later) this December!

2.What advice have you, or will you give Sarah about marriage?

I doubt that I will be giving her any specific advice. We’ve always talked about anything and everything through all her teenage “romances” and heartbreaks, so those types of words of “wisdom” have just been talked about all along. The main thing I’ve been saying lately, is that even if we don’t like a couple of things that the “in-laws” are doing in regards to the wedding, that it’s not at all worth saying anything! I think her and Jay will do great! They both come from stable, basic families, and they have a really solid relationship. They rarely quarrel, and they’ve known pretty much all along that farming, home, community, family and church will be very important in their lives.

3.What would your readers be surprised, to find out about you?

That I’m a hermit, and a bit of a recluse, and tend to deal with some depression problems, particularily when I’m not working. I can stay holed up in my house for days on end, and I wish I’d “get over it”.
4.List 5 words, to describe each of your children .

Sarah - beautiful, gentle, kind, compassionate, funny,

Ben - sweet, musical, athletic, loving, funny

5. If you could go back and talk to yourself at age 15, what advice would you give?

Don’t start smoking!! If you do, you’ll end up replacing nicotine, with food, and your skinny minny body is going to be the size of a barn when you hit mid-life! Never, ever, EVER date or have anything to do with guys named Jet, or Brad!!
1. Leave me a comment saying, “Interview me.”

2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
