Dress Drama

As I mentioned, I’m going to get my suit altered this week. I’m just waiting for TOM to pass, so I’m not all bloated (more than usual). This dress is one of the options I’m considering using for the dinner/dance, or maybe even just the dance. I think it would work fine, it’s comfortable, will be cooler, and the colors will still work nicely with everyone. Do you think this would be okay?? What color shoes would you wear with it? Black? Or something else for summer? I need some help girlfriends!

I think Ben and I are going after work to get him “suited up”. Hubby may join us and get his at the same time, depending on what he’s up to at that time.

I signed my call back for work yesterday, and I’ll be in a grade 2/3 split special ed class in the morning, and in the preschool in the afternoon. I can certainly live with that, and all relationships at school are very cordial again, after a very “rough” week. I think the reason I got so terribly upset, is that first of all, it caught me completely off guard. I wasn’t anticipating any changes at all. Secondly, I was immediately suspicious of the motivations (and I still don’t think I’m entirely wrong in that area), but the main reason is that I have very low self-esteem, but the two things I always knew I was good at, were being a mom, and my job. Lately I don’t have to be so much of a mom, and here they were making me feel like I wasn’t very good at my job either. Made me feel OLD, and like they were putting me out to pasture. Just send me to the damn glue factory!!!

I love that dress! I think some cute strappy black sandals would work, with a heel that would be good for dancing:o)
I’m glad you’re happier at work, that’s got to be a huge relief!

I LOVE that dress, Bev! It definitely needs some pretty black strappy sandals…maybe something with some rhinestones or glittery something across the toe strap…

I’m glad things are settling out at work.

I love that dress! I agree with the other girl’s, black strappy shoes would be perfect. You need a heel that’s high enough to be sexy and low enough to let you boogie. ;)

That is a cute dress. I agree with the others on the shoes too.

As for the whole Mom and self-esteem thing, I know where you’re at. I feel like all I’ve been forever is a Mom, and suddenly they are grown and not needing me. I think the key is to find the “ME” that was you before kids. That’s what I’m aiming for. It’s a little difficult, but I think (hope) it can be done.

oh, and and i have started trying to lose weight and shape up in case my oldest drops the wedding bomb on us any time soon. she’s not said anything, but there is just this *feeling* in the air, ya know?
