I’m jumping on the bandwagon with Friglet, Some Girl and Miss Prissy, and I’m going to do my best to post every day for a year. I haven’t posted much lately, and not for any good reason either.

About 2 months ago, my cousin Shirley (63 years old - I’m the youngest female cousin on my Dad’s side, so they’re all getting “old”) hadn’t been feeling real well.  Cramps, intestinal distress, headaches, etc.  Her co-workers finally called her sister-in-law to see if she could get her to go to a doctor.  She successfully got her in to a doctor, and they discovered almost instantly that she was full of cancer, with pretty much no treatment options.  Within 3 weeks she died.  So, 2 weeks ago, I went down to go to her funeral.  It was really nice!  She’d worked at the college there for 38 years!!  So the president of the college gave a eulogy, as did her co-worker.  They did a great job… very humerous and touching.  They also had her collection of Edmonton Eskimo, and Edmonton Oiler souvenirs there too.  She would have really liked it. She never married.

I’ve been on the hopeless quest of trying to find a dress to wear to the wedding.  Sarah and I spent the whole afternoon of my birthday in the largest mall in North America and had next to no luck finding me anything to wear.  I found a sage green one, that Sarah loved, but it was too beaded on the top.  I felt like Old Mother Barbie in it.  Near the end of the day, I found pretty much exactly what I was looking for, except it was a deep plum, and I hated the color!  Too “dark and depressing” for a summer wedding.

We went out for dinner later that night with hubby, Ben and Jay.  We had a nice meal, and a great time!
