Girls Day Out

Sarah and I spent the day together shopping. We had lots of fun! This is her at lunch, with a Bellini. It’s almost too pretty to drink! It’s a slush, with peach schnappes, champagne, rum, and then some other fruity goodness. Perfect for a hot, summer day. We did a Walmart (gag) run for some household products . Then we wandered over to Ikea. I’ve avoided that store for about 15 years, because the way it used to be laid out, you had to go through the entire store in order to reach the exit!! It was like a damn MAZE!!! Seriously, if you wanted to leave, you were fucked! Just like a rat in a trap!! Sarah assured me that the new Ikea was not designed like that, and thankfully she was right! I got a couple of lamps for the living room, and a few accessories. I didn’t dare get much more, as until I have the drapes in my hands, I’m not certain if one of the stripes is more burgandy, raspberry, or red in color. So until I see them myself, I will hold off on other accessories, especially pillows for the couches.

After Ikea, we went to lunch at Moxies, which was very good!! Then she took me over to Jay’s new condo for a tour. It’s really nice!! Sarah said that was the scariest thing she ever did…..viewing that condo, and then telling him (and his parents) to buy it… sight unseen! Thankfully they love it!

Lastly, we went to Petsmart. I picked up a few toys for Stanley, and another cat bed, which they all seem to want to fight over! Right now, Ice is sleeping in it, and Stanley is laying there looking longingly at it.

It’s a good thing, that I had such an enjoyable day, because I got home, to find out that Ben’s truck repairs were going to be $1200!! Uck! This is the same truck he is trying to sell! So I’m talking to Ben about it, after his Dad told him we’d cover it, and he could just pay us back (yeah right), and Ben took an attitude about it, and I told him, “You know…. the well is soon going to run dry!” and he said, “Don’t worry about it, I’ll take care of it!” and hung up on me. Little bugger. He officially isn’t “speaking to me” right now. That’s fine…. it will save me money.

Kids! That’s always the way it goes. You’re having a great time with one, getting along and everything. Then, bam, another kid has to make you pay for it!

Good luck. :)

Sounds like you and Sarah had a great time! I want to try one of those drinks!

I haven’t been in an Ikea in ages for the same reasons you stated above. The maze thing made me feel like some sort of lab animal. Funny too, because I just got their new book in the mail and I was sorta thinking about venturing down there. Now I will..

Pfft, Ben! I just know I am going to go through that kind of stuff with my boys! Good luck!

Love your cat pictures. We have “aquired” a new cat the neighbours, “Zeta” has decided to live at our house instead, I think its because they have got a new baby and another cat a male. She Zeta, is such a nice wee creature I can’t find it in me to chuck her out, even though I should. We have two old cats already, and they just tolerate Zeta, except at feed time of course.

Glad you had a great day with Sarah! And sorry Ben was a little shit. I have been guilty of that same behavior, though…. rites of passage! LOL!

P.S. - please, please, please fix your Remember Me thing in your comments so I don’t have to type it every time???
