I went down to Mom’s today (for the first time this year). On my way down, I took this picture. This is pretty much exactly where hubby found Stanley when the car in front of him started to go when the light changed. There was the itty bitty kitty sitting in the middle of the highway! As you can see, it’s a very busy intersection!

I had a good visit with Mom. Went out to East Side Mario’s for a salad, went downtown so I could buy 2 new pairs of crocs for work. I IKNOW crocs are as fugly as shoes can nearly humanly be, but they are comfortable, and with my bad knees and back, and the amount of craziness I have to do at work, they do the job. Plus! They can just be hosed off if I get paint, glue, or gawd forbid something worse on them! They will be my winter shoes. I’ll be in my flip flops until the snow gets too deep! Today it was rainy and blustery and cold! Mom was in her slacks, and long sleeved top, and a jacket. I was in capris and flip-flops, without a jacket. I was comfortable for the first time in 10 months, I don’t think a shed a drop of sweat!

Sarah and Miles were here for dinner when I arrived. We had pork kabobs, with brown rice and spinach salad. YUMMY! Sarah streaked my hair tonight too, so that I’m all ready to Go back to work tomorrow! Wahhhhhh! I bought the crocs, and that’s all I’m buying in “back to school clothes”. Normally I go fairly wild, but this year, since I’m dieting, I’m going to wait. So far, I’ve lost 7 pounds, so that’s a good thing! I don’t care if it’s all water, or what it is, as it’s still 7 less pounds for ME to carry around! Exercise has been a no-go for the past few days because of the fact that my head still feels like it’s got forks being jabbed into it continually!

It’s a good thing that my lunch was so good because I spent 3 hours cleaning my oven/stove, and I’m still not finished. GAWD!! I love the fact that my hubby cooks, or that the kids cooked all the time (yes… it’s been THAT long), or still come home and cook if they want something, or jump up and clean up after hubby cooks dinner on Sunday…..BUT!!! my HELL could they please learn how to clean up the kitchen??? Acckkk! I try to remember to go in there and clean up after them, but obviously the black hole that is my oven, was getting “missed”! The fan and light don’t work anymore. They shorted out years ago. It’s a Jenn aire oven so it’s “tiny”, and black……well unless you stick your damn head right in there, you can’t see anything!! I found a cremated onion ring, and a curly fry in there…….may they rest in pieces.

I used a whole can of oven cleaner, and got 90% of it clean, up can’t quite finish it until I get more. Thankfully you can buy new rings and burner pans at the $1.00 store, so I don’t even go there! Also I totally scored by finding a whole brand new set of knobs for the stove on EBay. The current ones have almost no paint left on them, from scrubbing the crap out of them, so you can’t tell if it’s on hi or low, unless you’re talented enough to remember…….which I’m not.

The second thing I’d like to whine about is my headache!!! I’ve had it now for about 3 weeks. It’s always in exactly the same spot. It’s right behind my ear just below the bone there. It throbs like a toothache. The strange thing, is that if I turn my head a particular way, the pain almost disappears. It’s worse when I lay down, and it hurts like a sonuvabitch if I try and sleep on the side. It started in June with an earache on that same side. It wasn’t severe, just always kind of ached. I mentioned it to my doctor early in July, and he peered in there and saw nothing (shaddup). BUT it seems quite coincidental that it’s all been on the same side of my bean!

The last thing I’ll bitch about (for now), is that I damn well can’t sleep! I finally conk out around midnight or 12:30 or so, but by 3:00 or much earlier, I’m wide awake, and end up watching movies until I can get up and make coffee! It’s pissing me off! The thing is, I don’t even nap during the day anymore, which I always used to be able to do at the drop of a hat! I’m sure hoping as I get working, and working out again, that I’ll start to sleep better! I could be kind of witch on a broom working with all these little kids with all their problems if I’m running on empty with a continual headache on the left side of my bean, suffering from oven cleaner inhalation asphixiation, cappucino withdrawal, and DIETING! Gawd save us all!

Tonight as I was going up to bed, I was wondering around locking doors and closing windows in the dark. As I turned from locking the front door, I got my toes caught backwards in a pair of my flip-flops I had left lying out. (very unusual for me, as I’m a neat-freak) I hurt my toes, and nearly fell on my ass, and yelped! Hubby called from the family room……”What happened??!!” I responded, “I tripped on my thong, and nearly fell on my ass!” There was silence, and I was just going to be a smart ass, and say, “It’s okay, I’m FINE!” When he said, “I hope you mean your flip-flops!!” LMAO….

I hadn’t made the flip-flop/thong faux pas for nearly 2 years, since I once said to Sarah, “I don’t know how you can stand to wear thongs all the time…. they rub me raw!” To which she shuddered, and yelped… “MOTHER…. they’re flip-flops!”

It hurts to not be cool.

I just finished my 20 minute yoga DVD. How the hell did this happen to me??? I used to do yoga for my “rest days”. I used to be flexible! Yoga poses used to be fairly easy for me. Am I talking about back ‘in the day” when I was 18 years old, and still actively athletic?? Oh no no no no!!! TWO YEARS AGO!

Now everything is “bigger”, and it doesn’t fold and bend as well. I nearly put all 10 toes out of joint, trying to support my ample girth in the “downward facing dog” (more like panting, dead dog). Then there was the ever popular “plank pose” (more like blank dose) …. hmmmph… this involved toes AND fingers nearly snapping in pieces with the strain of holding my ass up off the ground! This was 20 minutes, and by the last 5 minutes, I was shakey and wobbly and SWEATING as though I’d run a marathon! It was fucking PATHETIC I’m telling you!!! I thought yoga was all peace and tranquility and candles and incense!! UGHHH! To think I went from step aerobics, and weight lifting to this pathetic Pilsbury DOUGHLADY!!?? I falsely assumed sitting on my ass on my bed with my laptop, remote control, and cat was an Olympic event!! That beer and ice cream were a vegetable group.

To that skinny little bitch, who cheerily folded her itty bitty limbs neatly into an impossible position, and cheerily said, “Namaste…” To her, I say…..”fuck off and die!!!” (at least until tomorrow)

Now I’m Pissed! Now I’m on a mission! Now I need a nap!

I haven’t had time to be concerned about DIEting today, because I’ve been too busy! I wrapped up some more damn EBay packages, showered, headed off to the post office to ship them off, and then went to do some shopping.

I bought a different type of slipcover for the couch and loveseat. I haven’t tried them yet, but I sure hope they work, because I found the perfect throw cushions to go with them! I also made a run to the $1 store for some new containers for “making lunches” again *groan*. Next a run for some cat food and cleaning things (the joy), and then I went for groceries. Apparently when one is eating in a healthy fashion, vegetables are required. I want it noted that I did NOT stop at Starbucks today! heh!

It took me over 45 minutes to get all the stuff hauled into the house and put away, and by then, I was completely sweating to death!! I made some lunch, and have been hibernating up in my a/c bedroom ever since. Now I need to go attempt the slipcover acrobatics. After that, it’s time for yoga and a walk, and then I’ll make supper. Tonight we’re having grilled salmon, brown rice, and spinach salad.

As usual, nothing much is going on around here. I got a few things done this weekend. House cleaned, yard mowed, laundry done, etc. Ben and Jessica are history. He just couldn’t take the drama anymore. It’s all for the best, even though I know part of him is very sad. She told Sarah a week ago that she had mailed the cheque to her for the money she owes, and it still hasn’t arrived, so there’s going to be more drama there before it’s all said and done.

I have 3 more days, and then it’s back to WORK! Acckkkkk! I’m sure I’ll have a stroke from the shock of it all! At least we get eased into it pretty gradual, as our itty bitties don’t all start on the Tuesday after the long weekend. The start more gradually thankfully. Although we have to do home visits before they start. I am looking forward to getting back into a routine though, as I’m sick of sitting here knowing I should be doing something productive in the line of housework, and thinking that’s quite the most boring THOUGHT ever! Then I feel guilty. This way, when I’m working full time…. I’m guilt free! heh!

Tomorrow is also the diay I resume the DIEt! That also should give me a near stroke! I’m also going to start some very moderate (at first) exercise. I have to do something. I feel like a slug, and I’m getting old even over and above my years. I’ve ignored this so long, that now I’ve got more weight than ever to lose!

Ice looks inside out in this picture! Stanley’s about as close he dares get without getting “chased” out. He was sleeping outside the bed, with just his head hanging over the edge.

Nothing going on around this part of town. I wrapped EBay packages half the morning. Everytime I sell things on EBay, I regret it! I always manage to under-charge on my shipping, and then for what you get, it’s just not even worth the trouble! I seem to forget this between selling frenzies!

Am I the only one who is happy as a clam that what goes around, comes around in the case of Tom Cru*ise. Dave Lett*erman suggested he call Brooke Shi*elds for some anti-depressants! heh!

I spent today doing 2 things I HATE! Waiting for the “cable guy”, and preparing Ebay packages to ship. YUCK!
