Unemployed!!

I’m finished with work until the end of August. It will be nice to have a break! This is a long weekend in Canada. It’s supposed to be a hot one! Sarah and Jay have gone camping, and Ben and Jess are leaving for Kelowna in a little bit. They stopped in to drop off Miles. Miles and Stanley were a tiny bit stand-offish at first, but now they’re rolling around on the floor like a couple of long, lost buddies! I’m sure I will be following this up with many pictures of the pair of them!

Meme, stolen from Bitchypoo.

Scarey!

This little one gave us a big scare today at our picnic! I didn’t see it happen, but several did. A lot of kids were playing on the climbing equipment, and apparently this little girl got to the top, and one of the other kids kind of pushed her, and she fell from the top of the structure. Her mother went screaming, running over there, once she heard it was her that was hurt. She started convulsing, and was unconscious. From my vantage point, I thought they were giving her CPR! I was horrified, but apparently, that never happened. She came to, and our morning teacher, and her Mom took off and drove her to the hospital. As I was driving home, the teacher called me to say that everything looked all right, and they were just waiting to be released by the doctor. Thank GAWD!! So scarey!

On a lighter note, the kids had a blast, they got to milk a cow, play with kittens, go for a hayride, and do an obstacle course. They had a really good time. Thankfully there was a really strong breeze, so we didn’t quite melt!

Tomorrow is the last day for kids. All of our morning class except for 2 will be returning next year, into the afternoon class. We will be welcoming 7 little, bitty 3 year olds to our morning class next fall, with 2 community children. Should be a hoot! I believe all except one are even potty trained, so YAY!!!!

Going To The Farm

Well today we’re off to the farm for a year end party. It’s supposed to be 32 degrees C today (WAY hot for this neck of the woods), there will be 18 students, 18 parents, copious amounts of little brothers, one little sister, and it’s going to be a long HOT day!

Tomorrow there are just our 6 special needs kids in the morning, and the afternoon, and then that’s it for the kids!

Sarah and Jay came out to the house yesterday so Jay could meet Stanley (after he toured his new place, which he LOVED). He also loved Stanley. LOL

Apparently He’s Not Happy With His Latest Photos!

I’ve been working my buns off all day, doing housework while hubby was at work. It’s very hot here today, so I baked my buns off!! I’m just waiting to cool down a bit, and then finish the last little bit, and then I’m going to have a shower, and sit on my ass the rest of the day! Ben and Jess spent the night, and they’re having dinner here later as well. I’m not sure if Sarah is coming out or not. She’s been working nights, and I know she usually has a soccer practice on Sunday nights, so often can’t make it out for dinner.

Jay is also coming into town tonight, as he bought a condo last night! Sarah and her agent have been looking for him for about a month. As fast as they are listed, they’re sold! For thousands above asking price. So with Jay wanting to come and see any Sarah thought were good, it was pointless, so she finally said to him, “Look, you’ve either got to trust me on this and put in an offer, or just forget it. He decided to go for it. Sarah said it’s beautiful, in a good location, and recently renovated. He gets to look first hand tomorrow morning. He takes possession on July 31. He had to pay $17,000 above list price, as there were 8 offers in on it! Sarah’s agent figures hers has already gone up about $30,000 since she bought it in January. Also, taking into account that we painted the whole thing, and she bought all new appliances!

Hubby goes out of town tomorrow until Wednesday night, which is just as well, as the last 3 days with kids at school are always pretty crazy! 5 more days of work and then I’m off for the summer! Wooot! Boy do I need to rip into this house!! I should do a lot of painting too, but I guess I’ll just see how the summer goes. I really don’t want to be spending any extra money while I’m unemployed, as I still have to make my Jeep payments. Always a downside to unemployment! hmmmph!

Feel Free To Pee On it Stanley

I’m doing laundry today, and I had a hamper of clothes sitting on my bedroom floor, ready to be washed. 2 of the items happened to be my Oiler jerseys, which I’m going to wash and put away for the summer. Stanley is laying on my Pronger jersey. I figure he should pee on it.

Now… off the hockey rant. Yesterday at work, Miz THANG (my problem woman) said to me, “Bev, I was so proud of you when you left the snack table for someone else to deal with, and followed C to read books!” I nearly laughed in her damn face! She talked to me as if I was one of the 3 year olds. LMAO…. I just nodded, and went on with things. Then later she was “telling me” of some things that needed to be done for this child’s transition to his new school next year. I told her what I could get ready, and she argued with me…. in this case I know I’m right, and she’s off base, but I determined right at that time that you can NOT tell her anything, so I finally get it! I’m just going to nod my head from now on. Pfffft

This More Disappointing Than I Can Say!! BASTARD!

edmontonsun.com - Oilers - Body blow

Another superstar eyeing the exit.

Only this time it’s not even about money.

It’s worse. It’s about Edmonton.

Chris Pronger and his wife want out.

Reports began surfacing Thursday in the Toronto Sun and yesterday on SportsNet that the Prongers find our city unlivable, even at $6.25 million a year, and desperately want a trade.

Don’t like Edmonton

How’s that for a punch in the Oiler logo. It almost seemed unbelievable at first, too cold to be true. Then, late last night, Pronger’s agent Pat Morris confirmed the rumours.

The story is that his wife is homesick, as she’s from St. Louis. It’s supposedly not a hockey issue. Well SUCK IT UP PRINCESS!! Your hubby chose to sign a 5 year contract when he came here. He was thrilled to get it. He’s making 6.25 million/year, and you are complaining??? PUHLEASEE! Why marry a professional athlete if you can’t handle getting moved around??!! I had to accept the fact when my hubby got transferred to bumfuckalberta, and I had to quit my job that I loved, and it was NOT for big bucks!

It’s just too bad….. he played great for us, the whole city fell in love with him, and now he’s going to be public enemy #1 if this all turns out to be true. BAH HUMBUG! I’m going to become a lawn bowling fan!

3 More Days

I talked privately to each of the different teachers that I work for, and asked them outright if they wanted me to work in their classes again next year. They both emphatically answered yes. (to my relief) The object of my scorn and malice, who wasn’t there today, had told the afternoon teacher that I was feeling, “overwhelmed”… LMAO… I’m “overwhelmed” about 3 times a year! hehehe…. She mistook “pissed off as hell” for “overwhelmed” I guess! When I told the 2 teachers what had gone on yesterday, they were both VERY annoyed to say the least. Anyways, with the “absence of “her”, it was a very good day!

How Many Days Left??

Worked sucked ASS today! I got “jacked up” about something, that I think was almost all bunk! I’ll accept responsibility for a couple of things, but most of it was crap! When I tried to “explain my perspective”, I got sarcasm and a sanctimonious attitude. One of the big problems is that there are two adults in “charge”, but no one knows which one of them is in charge. One of the parents is sticking her nose into things, largely because she spends too much time hanging around the room, and her kid acts up something bad when she’s there, and she thinks it’s all funny and encourages him, by laughing at him. He doesn’t act like that when she’s not there. Then she complains about his behaviour!! If they want me to shadow this one child 24/7, then don’t have me doing the craft with 10 kids, don’t have me doing snacktime with the kids, etc. But as we all know the shit flows down the sewer pipe!

If the adults in “charge” would tell the parents not to arrive 15 minutes early while we’re still on our lunch break, bring your child to the room, drop them off, and LEAVE, don’t all hang around, for 10 minutes, letting the siblings play, visiting with us, etc, just drop off the kid and go home!!

I was so mad, I was nearly in tears for over an hour!! When I get that mad, I always end up like a big blubbering baby, so here I am, after this conversation is over (occured while I’m doing craft with 6 kids….. with the “other” teacher and aide in the room (apparently they didn’t hear it), I’m sitting there, trying not to cry like a big wuss, and trying to be all happy, pappy with the kids while we finished! As soon as I got done, I went to the washroom and literally slapped my face a few times, trying to get out of the “wanting to blubber phase!” Grrrr…. Fortunately we went outside next to play, so I could keep my big shades on and get my mind in “order”.

A couple of people asked me if I was okay, and all I could do was say, “NO!” and when asked to elaborate, I just said, “No…. but I’m too mad to talk about it right now!” It’s the closest I’ve ever come to walking out and not coming back! I’ll see how it goes over the next few days, and I’ll ask for a transfer to a school in my town if I don’t think it’s something that can be worked out.

The Only Stanley We Got

Stanley

Originally uploaded by Bev In Hormoney.

Well the Oilers didn’t win last night, but I’m so proud of the boys!! What a run, what excitement, what highs and lows, what comebacks, what character, what grit this team showed during this long playoff run! To think the first pre-season games will be a mere 2.5 months from now. UGH!!!

My little kitty is a doll! He’s friendly, and cuddly, purrs like crazy, and plays and plays. The old cats are doing quite well with him because they’ve gotten quite used to kitties from being around Miles. Speaking of which, we’ll be kitty-sitting Miles for the July long weekend. Should be a hoot! Now if the little son-of-a-bitch would stay off my laptop!!! LOL

It’s a SIGN!

Stanley 003

Originally uploaded by Bev In Hormoney.

Today I get a voicemail from hubby just before I left for work, so I called him at work, and he says…. “I got your kitty!” I asked him where from… he answered, “The highway!” I told him, “I wanted a LIVE one, not ROADKILL!” He laughed and said, “He is! He’s running all around my office! He was sitting in the middle of the highway! I thought he was a gopher! A car drove right over him, but missed him!!”

He didn’t know what to do with him for the day, so I called Mom, and she agreed to look after him. I went and got some kitty supplies at lunch, and hubby just brought him home. He’s so pretty! He plays, eats, uses the litter box and purrs. He’s been playing for 20 minutes with the toys I bought him.

I think HE is a HER, but its name is STANLEY regardless. One way or another we brought Stanley home! heheh

Hubby the putz said that I should name “her” Carolina if we lose tonight! Sheesh!
