Came Close Today!

We just had students for 2 hours today. In our little pre-school class, we don’t have any students until next week. Right now the teachers are doing home visits, and we are busy setting up the classroom. Tomorrow we will be painting some little chairs that were built over the summer. They’re so cute!!! Itty Bitty!!

I nearly ended up back in my former position with Nick. I said if that’s what would work best for everyone, that I was okay with it. It didn’t help after I went to say “Hi” to Nick. He saw me, smiled, and said, “I love it!” and gave me a big hug. Melted my heart. Every time he’d see me in the morning, he’d take my hand, and say, “Come on Bev!!” At the end of the day, he saw me and said, “Yes Bev!” I said, “Yes Bev what?” He says, “Yes Bev to work!” So I explained to him that he was going to work with Mrs. S and Mrs. B and he and I could visit and play at lunch time and other times. He seemed to think that was okay, so when I took him to Mom at the end of the day, and said, “Tell Mom who you’re going to work with….. he happily says, “BEV!” *sigh*

It came down to the Queen talking to the 3 teachers involved, and they all decided that I had to decide. *groan* Exactly what I told the Queen I didn’t want to do. I had said, “Just tell me where I’m going when you know!” Pfffft So I very nearly went back, as I knew the other woman would rather stay in pre-school. Then I thought Fuck that! I’ve put in 10 years there, always taking the most challenging kids, doing outdoor supervision twice a day, every day, where there is NO supervision in my new job, and she’s only worked here ONE year…..so I’m staying in the pre-school program. It turned out fine, and they’re actually going to hire a new person for my job. Hopefully it turns out okay, cause Nick was already pushing the aide that worked with him today around!! Telling her to shut up and sticking his tongue out at her, etc!

So for once, I did what suited ME best and the rest can worry about themselves!

I must get to bed, as I have to do before school care in the morning, which means I have to be at school BEFORE 7:00 am. Would you please poke me in the eye with a fork the next time I say I’ll do these kinds of things!!?? We get paid, but I don’t think my sanity is worth it! Pfffft

Back to School Shopping

I worked on the school web page for several hours this morning, since I was awake with the crows, or rather the noisey humans with whom I share this house! I didn’t have to go to work today, so of course I didn’t have to get up. Hubby was going into the shower at 4:20 am, Sarah got in the shower at 5:30, and Ben got up at 6:45. Well, by that time I was beyond wide awake, so I got to work. By about 10:00, I got ready, and went shopping for a few clothes to wear until the ones I ordered online get here.

This is My new school bag. It’s huge, and awesome! I also got a few tops, and they’re mostly that new aqua/tourquoise color. I love it! ALMOST as much as pink! heh! But not quite!

Yesterday’s workshop was as boring as watching paint dry. Linda and I also got lost for a period of time, so we were even late, and it was still LONG! It turns out, that Jenny (whom they gave my old job to), is pregnant, so she’ll be leaving in Feb. Man can I call ‘em or what!!?? It’s going to be one fucked up mess in that room this year! Karma’s a bitch. I just feel bad for Nick.

Yesterday, Carpenter boy got a $300 speeding ticket on his way home from work. ASS! He was feeling pretty crumby about it. GOOD!!! He was damn lucky! The cop nearly gave him one for rolling a stop sign, and for having a cracked license (WTF??!!). If he would have gotten all those tickets, it would have been over $1000. For the first year or so when he drove, he drove much slower and more cautious than Sarah did at that age. I don’t even know how many tickets she’s had, but it’s at least 4. She finally learned her lesson. It always surprised me that Ben was so cautious, because everything else that he does, he does in HIGH GEAR! So nice to see he’s driving at that speed now too! Damn I hope he’s learned!

First Day of School

Hi Ho Hi Ho! It’s off to work I go, with a shovel and a pick, and a dynamite stick, Hi Ho, Hi Ho!

My first day back to work. I got absolutely maybe 2 hours of sleep all night. I never sleep well on Sunday nights. I think it’s my Monday-dread kind of sleep, so last night was 2 months worth!

I’ve cleaned 2 bathrooms, and now I’m waiting for Linda, and then we’re off to Pige*on Lake. How exciting does that sound??? Named after a bird that shits all over the place! Hmmmmph!

New Look, New Upgrade

I gave myself a new “school look” around here, and upgraded to the latest version 3.2 of MT.

I got groceries for the week, because after tomorrow, it’s back to brown-bagging it. Oh how I hate making lunches! I also washed my car and cleaned out the inside (which would explain why the rain is coming back tomorrow). I watered all my flowers, and have been doing laundry this afternoon, and I’m nearly finished with that.

I’ve been working for 2 days on the school web page also, and getting NOwhere! I was the one that originally made a web page for the school several years ago. I had it set up with MT, so that you could easily and quickly post news and information. I also had a gallery installed, with an album for each grade. Well last year, the Queen, decided that one of the young teachers should do it, and good GAWD it’s horrid! I imagine, knowing her, that she thought, that a dumb ass special needs assistant couldn’t possibly do as good a job as a teacher! heh! Well now he’s gone, and suddenly……..I’ve gotten smarter because she asked me to take it over again. This means pretty much completely redoing it, because right now it looks like something I did about 6-7 years ago on my very first web site on Geocities! HA HA all it needs are comet cursors and midi music! LOL

Precious Little Going On Here

I guess it’s been a few days since I’ve done a real post, but it’s largely because there isn’t anything going on around here. After my crawlspace ordeal, for about 2 days, I was practically crawling around. My back was really bad, and my knee was worse. My back is fine now, but my knee is still somewhat gimpy, so I’m laying pretty low, so that I don’t have to return to work on Monday, limping like an old woman!

Monday we have a “creative writing” seminar out at the lake all day. We’re not sitting on the beach, heh but we’re going to be at the hotel out there all day. YUCK! WTF do I need a creative writing course for?? The little kids I’ll be working with this year can hardly TALK! I don’t think I’ll be teaching them any creative writing skills! You have to understand just how much I hate seminars and conferences. I have the attention span of a 2 year old, and I get all fidgety and restless, and usually “get in trouble” for making people laugh. I’m a brat in other words. Now if I took my laptop, and worked on the school web page all day, then I could sit still for hours! When asked why we needed to attend, we were told it was a “team-building”, bonding experience. BLECH! What a pile of hooie!

On a good note, the sour puss woman that replaced Doreen and Amy has quit. That makes pretty much everyone on staff most happy! She was so damn negative, and hated everyone. She could suck the joy out of any room, just by walking into it with that crabby face most days. So yay for that! BUT it saddens me a bit that I’ve left my place in the Special Needs room because of her and her lack of support. Not that I regret moving into the pre-school special needs room, but I worry now about Nick, as I can not imagine who they will get to work with him now, and I hate to see 2 years of really hard work on my part, go down the drain by him getting placed with someone who just lets him do his thing, to avoid a fight, and I’m pretty sure that’s what will happen, as whenever I’ve been away, that’s been the case. Even the teacher would rather give in. Then my next concern is that they label him “a danger to himself and others” and get him placed in a behaviour disordered program, and that will break my heart, and his mothers.

Needless to say, I’ve been dwelling on all of this quite a bit since H (my supervising teacher in the SN room) phoned to tell me, kind of feeling me out about coming back now that miss P is gone. Part of me would like to, as I love little Nick, and the new little boy, Sam who is a Down Syndr*ome boy absolutely took to me on the spot every time he visited, and he’s going to be looking for me too when he gets there on Wednesday.

Kitchen Bitch

A mother was working in the kitchen listening to her 5 -year-old son playing with his new electric train in the living room. She heard the train stop and her son saying, “All of you sons of bitches who want off, get the hell off now… cause this is the last stop! And all of you sons of bitches who are getting on, get your asses on the train…cause we’re going down the tracks. The horrified mother went in and told her son, “We don’t use that kind of language in this house. Now I want you to go to your room and you are to stay there for TWO HOURS. When you come out, you may play with your train…but I want you to use nice language.”

Two hours later, the boy came out of the bedroom and resumed playing ! with his train. Soon the train stopped and the mother heard her son say… “All passengers, please remember your things, thank you and hope your trip was a pleasant one. We hope you will ride with us again soon.” She heard her little darling continue…”For those of you just boarding, remember, there is no smoking in the train. We hope you will have > >> a pleasant and relaxing journey with us today.” As the mother began to smile, the child added, “For those of you who are pissed off about the TWO HOUR delay, please see the bitch in the kitchen

My Horoscope

Pampering is the order of the day. If you can’t immediately get away to a luxurious resort hotel, find little ways to indulge in luxury, from a flavored latte to a few moments in a sunny park before work.

Best Weather in Canada???

Well who knew??

EDMONTON - The next time you frost your eyebrows and lose all feeling in your cheeks while scraping ice off your windshield during a raging winter blizzard, remember — Alberta has the most comfortable weather in the country…..…read story….

Normally I would tend to completely agree with this. Most residents of BC were shocked, as they have so much warmer weather, and milder winters, but in some of my visits to certain areas of BC, it’s so cloudy and drizzly that I’d be a depressed bag of rags living in that climate. Otherwise I’d totally love to retire there. Manitoba has horrid winters. Ontario is way too hot and humid for me. I guess we don’t get the freezing rain near as often either. We’ve just had an exceptionally wet and cold summer this year, following 3 years of drought, an infestation of west nile virus carrying misquitoes last year, and a crazed crew of yellow jacket wasps this year, but heh. I guess it’s all good!
