Cleaning Frenzy Part Deux

Today I entered the deep, dark, dank bowels of the house which is Ben’s bedroom. *shudder* *gag* I emptied his desk and moved it out of there, as GAWD knows Ben doesn’t believe in homework, so it was just taking up space. I hosed it down dusted every inch of it and shoveled hauled out all the clothes that don’t fit, washed all the bedding, and once I got it all back together, I brought in an Lazy Boy chair so he can sit and play X-Box Live in the manner in which he deserves. Heh! We also put in an inflatible doll Oilers’ chair, so he can have company. Now the little prince bugger wants to buy a mini fridge! Hmmmph!

No Work Tomorrow! Whoot!

My day started out pretty slow and lazy this morning, with lots of surfing while drinking coffee for a good part of the morning, but then I got up and worked out, showered, and then I cleaned the main floor of the house really well. It had just gotten to that point! I also got the laundry done.

Sarah got home from her ski trip with Jay, Jen and Stephan, and they had a good time, even though Stephan was a PITA during the trip. Ben worked today so we didn’t see too much of him.

Tomorrow is a PD day, so no school for me tomorrow, and I’m very pleased about THAT! I’m not sure what I’ll do. I may do some shopping, or I might clean the upstairs of the house, or both. I could also stand to go get a haircut! I guess I’ll see what kind of mood I’m in tomorrow!

I’m just going to watch “The Magic of Ordinary Days” with Kerri Russel. Some nights are just perfect for a Hallmark movie! HEH

He’s ALIVE!

Well Ben survived his birthday bash, no worse for wear. He told me that the peelers kept trying to get him to buy a lap dance! He said, “One was as old as YOU Mom!” to which we both *shuddered* simultaneously at the thought of someone “like me” doing a lap dance!! LMAO He’s already off and gone again. His best friend’s girlfriend shares the same birthday as Ben and it’s her party tonight.

I’ve been one big LUMP today, and I don’t see that changing any time soon. Hopefully I can accomplish something tomorrow.

Basketball practices/games and partied far too much.
Where did you work?

Never my Dad, but certainly with my mother in grade 10, then I left, so not so much.

Happy 18th Birthday Ben!

benbob.jpg

It’s my “baby” boy’s 18th birthday today. He’s turning out to be a great young man! From the ages of 4 -14 he excelled in sports. Track, soccer, hockey, volleyball and basketball. When everyone else started to grow, and he didn’t, he got a pretty bad back injury, and retired from competitive sports. Now he snowboards and works out at the gym to keep fit. As a high school student, he excelled in Drama, collected the provincial title for Best Supporting Actor, and the High School award for Drama Student of the year in grade 12. Now he’s going to tech school, and doing very well in Carpentry school, making his mother lots of wonderful things, and working part time.

Tonight my “baby” is getting taken to the bar to watch the strippers, because he’s finally old enough to go to the bar with all his friends, who’ve been going for months!!! This truly is my proudest moment as a mother! Pffffft

Anyways, Happy Birthday Ben!

Oh Piss On It!

Today Nick started the day off on a roll again. He shouted VERY loudly in grade 2, so I told him he was too noisey for grade 2 and we were going back to our room. I picked up our things, and headed off that way, while he was screeching, “Wait!!! Come back here!” I just kept walking, when he ran at me and slammed into me with both hands in the middle of my back. Talk about whiplash! I just said, “No hitting!” and took him to the “Thinking Spot” so he’d cool it a bit!

He settled down quickly, so I opened the door to ask if he was ready to work, and what do I see??? Nick! Stark naked, undershorts in hand, and he had pissed in the corner!

Before He Annoyed the Piss Out of Me!

Nick is still on a roll. This morning after quite a bit of prodding to do his work, he looks at me square in the eye, and quietly says, “Don’t be such a grump.” I said to him, “You shouting at me makes me be a grump. You stop shouting at me, and I will stop being a grump! Deal??!!” We solemnly shook hands. Then he loudly says, “Let’s make some magic!! To which I said, “Yes indeed!” Cuteness!

Damn the Full Moon

Nick was dreadful today!!! I’m choosing to blame the full moon. I’ve been crabby for 3 days myself! I go nuts during a full moon too! I’m hoping that Nick settles in one of these days soon!

Hubby is going out of town tomorrow on business again, but will be back by Thursday at noon at the latest. Sarah has been busy with Jay, papers, and finals before she starts her final practicum in the OR in February. Ben just returned from the YMCA where he and a bunch of buddies joined up to workout. His 18 birthday is on Friday. Finally legal for everything around here! He’s the last in his class, and the last of his friends to turn 18.
