Ben started his new job today. He worked from 7:00 - 5:30 pm. LONG day! His job consists mostly of digging 5 foot deep holes by hand. For this he gets paid $12.00/hour. The most “senior” crew guy has been there 2 months. That gives you an idea of how popular this “line of work is”! He just dragged his ass in the door tonight! My in-laws were here for dinner, and he washed up, and then sat down to dinner, and ate a huge piece of lasagna, and then hit the shower. He sacked out on the couch for a couple of hours, and then hauled his ass up to bed at 9:00. While we were eating dinner, I asked him what they’d have him doing through the winter if he decided to stay on with them. He said, “I’m going to SCHOOL!. It was hilarious how definite he was about that! Now we’ve just got to hope he gets his finalized acceptance for Carpentry and Millwright at the tech school, or he’ll be digging holes for a year! LMAO

MORAL OF THE STORY: If your kids are thinking that they shouldn’t go to some kind of post-secondary education, get them a job digging holes. That ought to ensure they continue their education. hehe
