A Day In the Sauna

I don’t know if I’ve whined about it in the past (although I can’t imagine that I haven’t), but we nearly freeze our KNICKERS off in our classroom in the winter! We have been complaining to administration for YEARS. Usually all winter, it’s at best 62 degrees in our room.

Well today on the last day of May, that all changed!! For reasons unknown to mankind, the furnaces blasted on high all weekend. When I got to school this morning, it was exactly 110 degrees in our classroom! Every window in the building was open, we had 5 fans going all day, and still at the day’s end, we were all red-faced, tired, headachey and BLAH!

Go figure!

The place I used to work was similar - except we froze year round. It was okay if it was boiling outside and you just walked into the building and thought ‘wow, this is a cool relief.’ But after about 10 minutes of the cold air, you were ready to put a heater on - in the middle of Summer!
