We Made Mom Cry

Nick wore his caterpillar hat. He stood on the stage, and recited every word of the poem with his class. He did a few of the actions, and when he was done, I pointed out to him that Mom was sitting there in the gym watching. She was crying just a few tears. When I got over there, she is covering Nick’s face with kisses, and she said to me, “That’s the first time I’ve seen him on stage!”
That 5 minutes of my week, made all the bad things just disappear, and made it all worthwhile.

I know the feeling… it gets better… after all the “drama” that the teen years bring, to have your kids say “thanks Mom, for not letting us get away with things” is the totally best feeling I have ever had. To know that you did something right for them, even though they hated you at the time for it… priceless!
that is wonderfully sweet.
Aw Bev what an awesome feeling, huh? I know what you mean as I have some children in my daycare with challenges, but when they do something to show their progress it just makes you so proud and makes all the bs leading up to it worth it. Great job!!!
