Shit!

We’re getting a goddam BLIZZARD today!! Huge winds, rain/snow,cold. It’s ugly! We’ve had all 4 seasons in the past 24 hours!

In other bitching, my Oilers lost last night 1-0 *sniff*. Playoff chances are getting slimmer now.

It’s also time change this weekend. That I HATE as well. Always futzes me up for a week or so. Especially this one. I can never figure out why we always have spring break ending with a time change! A double whammy for getting up early again!

My final bitch (for now)….I have to get up and get dressed and go out in this nasty ass weather to go to Physio for 8:15 and lay on a table with electricity pulsing my elbow and shoulder for 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of ultra sound and it’s associated slime, and to top it off, 10 minutes of deep pressure on the SORE spot massage. Grrrr Then it’s off to get my new glasses. How much do you bet I hate them once I can actually see them! (very hard to pick glasses with your glasses off…..you can’t see bugger all!)

Okay…..done crabbing. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that I have only had 2 sips of coffee so far.??

Another One Done

This morning I got an early start off to see the orthopedic specialist way on the north side of Edmonton (I didn’t even get lost). I was supposed to have a work-readiness assessment. He determined that I wasn’t “ready” for the “readiness” test, and advised me to have a cortisone shot in my shoulder. My elbow and neck have come along great with the physio therapy, and he’s satisfied with the progress there, but my shoulder is still really wonky. I have an appointment with my doctor for Thursday to get the shot. Apparently you have to really baby the joint for 2 weeks after the shot, but I’ll get more details on Thursday. So I’m wondering if I’m going to get to go back to work on April 5 as I thought, or have to wait until 2 weeks from Thursday. *sigh* I have physio again tomorrow morning at 8:15. My eye doctor called a little bit ago and my new glasses are ready too.

The weather was gorgeous here today!! Nearly 70 degrees!!! Record breaking temps obviously! Sarah and I went for a 45 minute walk, and I wore a tank top. Whoo! Could see me coming a mile away with my “whiteness”!! I think it’s supposed to get fairly cold again and rain tonight and the rest of the week though. Once it dries up a bit I sure need to get out in the yard and clean up things. It’s a real mess this year!

25 minutes until the most important game of the Oilers’ season. They play St. Louis who they’re tied for the 8th and final playoff place with!! Ugghhh I can hardly stand to watch these tension filled crucial games!!!

Finished for the Day

Well I’ve been on the go non-stop since early morning, so now I’m going to lay down and rest this arm on some heat before it starts causing me grief!

I was at Physio by 8:00 am and had my regular treatment, and then I had an assessment to be fitted for orthodics. From there, I went in and bought groceries, came home and got those all put away, started some laundry, worked out, made a huge lasagna for supper, showered, had homemade soup for lunch, took the hair-bag cats outside to brush them, changed the bed, and now I’m resting here!

The Oilers won again last night!!! The race is SO close for the last playoff spot, whichis 8th, that when you go to bed at night they’ll be in 7th, and by morning, they’re in 9th! All depends on what the 3 teams that are absolutely neck and neck do each night. It’s stressing me out man! But, are the games EVER exciting!

Blonde Joke

There were two blonde guys working for the city. One would dig a hole and the other would follow behind him and fill it in. They worked furiously all day without rest, one guy digging a hole, the other guy filling it in again. An onlooker was amazed at their hard work, but couldn’t understand what they were doing. So he asked the hole digger, “I appreciate the effort you are putting into your work, but what’s the story? You dig a hole and your partner follows behind and fills it up again.” The hole digger wiped his brow and sighed, “Well, normally we are a three-man team, but the guy who plants the trees is sick today.

I’m Sooooo Sleepy

I think all the stress of doctor’s appointments, and all the pain meds have finally caught up with me. I’ve done almost nothing but sleep all weekend, and I can’t remember the last time that happened! I’m just zonked! Good thing I have nothing special to be doing.

I’ve got homemade tortellini soup here that we’re going to gnosh on for supper between watching hockey games. The kids are gone for the day, they’re going to the movie, “Scooby Doo 2″, out for supper, and then to the Oiler’s game. A little brother-sister bonding time.

I have physio again tomorrow, Wednesday, and Friday mornings around 8:00 am, and then Tuesday I’m going to the orthopedic specialist for a complete assessment, and the final word on my return to work.

Confused?? Must Be!

We saw some Canadian Geese out in the fields yesterday afternoon. They must be some sorry, sad-assed, confused buggers…….looking for Spring here already!!! We got snow last night! Must be ROOKIES!

I didn’t mention yesterday that I am now a PUBLISHED POET!! Whoot! Now before you get all impressed (if you were), let me explain. I entered an Oilers contest to win 2 tickets to last nights game. To enter, you had to write a 4 line poem about the Oilers in order to enter. Well the good news…..out of 1100 entries, I made the top 10. The bad news? They published it in the Edmonton Journal yesterday, (how embarassing) AND I didn’t win the tickets! ACCCK! But the good news, the Oilers won last night! Go Oil go!!

Rush, Rush

I’ve been running my hiney off all day (I wish!) First I had PT for an hour and a half! Grrr… I got home for all of 10 minutes, and then went to the eye doctor where I spent another hour and a half. My eyes haven’t changed. YAY! I still ordered new glasses though, as mine are at least 5 years old now. My new ones are………PURPLE! Woot! My current ones are purple too! One of my favorite colors!

From there, I had about 10 minutes to wolf down some lunch, change clothes and head over to the school. I just delivered the girls over to Tony’s house, and now I have one hour before we leave for the Oilers’ game. We’ve got a playoff spot, but now we have to KEEP IT! 5 games left!

Doctors and More Doctors

I was SO down in the dumps this morning that it wasn’t even funny. I had to go to the doctor again today. Talking with Candi afterwards cheered me up quite a bit, and then the sun came out this afternoon, so that didn’t hurt either’

Tomorrow I have to go to PT and the eye doctor. After that Sarah and another classmate and I are going over to the school so they can observe Tony for a while. After that, we’re going over to Tony’s Mom and Dad’s so they can interview them. Their group is doing a project on autism, so they’re going to use Tony for part of their study.

I want to come back as some nice family’s pet!!! GEESH! The way Smudge is looking at the dog, I suspect the dog is snoring as usual and woke the cat up. He’s sure giving her a dirty look regardless!

Beautiful Day!

It’s a lovely sunshiney day today! I’ve already had a busy morning! I got up early, had coffee and breakfast, did 45 minutes of pilates and ab work, went to physio for an hour, came home, got changed, grabbed my mp3 player and went out for a good, brisk walk.

I’m just going to cool off a bit, shower, and then have some lunch.
