Thank Heavens!

I’m so VERY glad that the end of the week has arrived! Today was swimming day, and it went fairly well. Nick behaved well until this afternoon, then he spent most of Art time laying on the floor laughing hysterically (loudly) at something amusing only to him.

I’m not happy about something that’s been going on at work for the past couple of weeks. As you all know (because I’ve been whining about if for weeks) I’ve had a buggered up shoulder/elbow for at least 6 weeks. It happened when wrestling Nick down the hall one day. I end up carrying him around a lot when he’s having a hissy fit. Anyways, it got to the point that I finally went to the doctor, and he put me on restricted duty at work. No lifting over 15 pounds. So I phoned the teacher for our room, and told her, I either couldn’t lift, or would not be in. She insisted that we would work around everything and I should work. Of course that was a whole load of crap! The first day or two, she tried to help me out a bit, but that didn’t last long! We went bowling a week ago, and she got up to help Nick the first 2 turns, and after that it was me. This month it was my turn to not have to go swimming, but she kept another lady back instead because she had a RASH on her neck. Oh puhlease! So sure enough, I was lugging Nick around all day again today. At one point he tried to jump in the hot tub, so I of course instinctively caught him full weight with my gimpy arm. then this afternoon he was acting up a lot, and of course she couldn’t get out of her chair to help me out at all!! I go back to the doctor on Tuesday after school, and I hope he tells me to stay home until the damn thing is better. I’m tired of getting no support on this.

That stinks. Maybe you need to get the doctor to put that in writing for you. When I went back to work on reduced hours before Xmas as soon as I said I would do the night shifts my boss buggered off on leave leaving me with the new lad which meant that no way could i do reduced hours. I was on the floor after 4 12-hour nights shifts and back off sick for a month. They seemed suprised!!

Bev, I feel for ya. It’s just wrong. I hope that the school is paying your Dr bills too. Have they considered physical therapy? I just went to the Dr on Friday and I getto go back to full duty. I’m happy about it, but I wish they had continued the PT for a bit. At least he gave me a follow-up visit. I wish you luck :)

I think you stay home for a few days and rest your shoulder and elbow and make the teacher do all the heavy lifting! I hope she buggers up her shoulder and elbow! Aren’t I nasty? hehehe!
