Just a Hint of Sunshine

That’s all I’m asking for! Yesterday the sun did manage to finally peek through for a while. That’s the first sunshine we’ve had all week! It totally affects my mood and energy level. I’m solar powered.

Today I’m just going to finish up the usual weekend chores and then watch the Oilers game this afternoon.

Thank Heavens!

I’m so VERY glad that the end of the week has arrived! Today was swimming day, and it went fairly well. Nick behaved well until this afternoon, then he spent most of Art time laying on the floor laughing hysterically (loudly) at something amusing only to him.

I’m not happy about something that’s been going on at work for the past couple of weeks. As you all know (because I’ve been whining about if for weeks) I’ve had a buggered up shoulder/elbow for at least 6 weeks. It happened when wrestling Nick down the hall one day. I end up carrying him around a lot when he’s having a hissy fit. Anyways, it got to the point that I finally went to the doctor, and he put me on restricted duty at work. No lifting over 15 pounds. So I phoned the teacher for our room, and told her, I either couldn’t lift, or would not be in. She insisted that we would work around everything and I should work. Of course that was a whole load of crap! The first day or two, she tried to help me out a bit, but that didn’t last long! We went bowling a week ago, and she got up to help Nick the first 2 turns, and after that it was me. This month it was my turn to not have to go swimming, but she kept another lady back instead because she had a RASH on her neck. Oh puhlease! So sure enough, I was lugging Nick around all day again today. At one point he tried to jump in the hot tub, so I of course instinctively caught him full weight with my gimpy arm. then this afternoon he was acting up a lot, and of course she couldn’t get out of her chair to help me out at all!! I go back to the doctor on Tuesday after school, and I hope he tells me to stay home until the damn thing is better. I’m tired of getting no support on this.

The Tux

Well we got Ben all fitted, and the tux ordered. He’s 5′10″ tall, and 128 pounds. hehehe (and all legs and arms). We ordered an Alfred Sung tuxedo, just the traditional style with 3 buttons (as that’s all Ben’s body would cover), a red herringbone vest with matching tie, a black dress shirt, and black shoes.

He is gonna look sharp! He JUST fits men’s clothes, graduating from high school! He wears a 30 slack, and a 14.5 dress shirt. Now hopefully he doesn’t grow! (before Grad) We do have 10 days to change a size if necessary!

Off to wrestle with that demon child again! He has been on a tear this month!!!

Today Would Be Tuesday

Nicholas was a pain in the ass yesterday. Absolutely ROTTEN! Geesh! Then an OT came to observe Tony. So it was a wild one at work.

Sarah’s interview went well as far as she could tell, but she won’t hear anything until the end of April!! That’s a long time to “wonder”. I think she should persue a transfer to a different facility where she’ll get more hours with her current LPN job that she’s had for 2 years.

The Oilers played another great game last night!! Very exciting again. Unfortunately we didn’t win in OT this time, it ended in a tie.

I’m taking Ben tux shopping right after school today. We know where we’re going, and he knows what he wants to order, so it should just be a simple matter of getting him measured. He’s taller than me now, and I’m still concerned he’s going to sprout up a bunch before mid-May!!

BLECH! Monday!

Ewww Monday! Hubby is long gone to work, Sarah just left for her big interview. She is NERVOUS! I should have an easier morning at work as Nick has a doctor’s appointment this morning and won’t be there. I’m running out for groceries during my lunch break, racing home after work, getting supper started, working out, showering, eating, getting ready to go to the Oilers’ game. Busy day ahead!

The Oilers game on Saturday night against Vancouver was one of the best I’ve seen this year!

Keep Your Fingers Crossed!

Sarah needs some extra luck next week! She has applied for an ENS (employed nursing student) position for this spring/summer in the ER department. There are only 350 positions available in all units, in all the hospitals in Edmonton, and only 6 available in the ER, which is where she wants to be. She got a call yesterday, and she got an interview for Monday morning, so she’s really EXCITED!!!

What Kind Of Shoe Are You?

bare feet
Barefoot- free, rebellious, and wild, you hate
boundries and rules. You tend to be on the
crazy side and often sweep people up along with
you. You are most likely the leader of your
group of friends. [please vote! thank you! :)]
