Wow!

The pair of them went into Edmonton to run a couple errands and came back for lunch. I made a chicken stir fry. He DID the dishes after lunch! *faint* Now they’ve gone off horseback riding.

I’m seriously considering sending Ben and Sarah to the BOOT CAMP!

Sarah and Ron

This is Sarah and Ron ready to go out to walk the Legislative grounds last night. He drove. Afterwards, she took him on a mini tour of Edmonton, showed him the University of Alberta, where she starts 3rd year nursing on Tuesday. Drove him past the extended care facility where she works, and then took him to Whyte Ave where they strolled around a bit, and had ice cream (kids after my own heart) and then headed home. Home by 10:00 and he filled hubby’s Jeep up with gas! *fainting*

Loud Morning

Divina has pesky kid neighbors, and I’ve got a goddamn neighbor with a LOUD voice! Every morning at the ass crack of dawn (and I would know this, cause I”m up at that time EVERY day) she’s out on her deck to have a cigarette and coffee. This is fine, it’s her deck. But THEN, she gets on the phone, and calls her very old, deaf mother. I hear every fucking word she says on that phone no matter where I am in my yard, or if I’m in the loft, bedroom or kitchen of my deck. EVERY word!!!! She has this “I’ve smoked for 40 years”, gravelly, deep, witchy sounding LOUD voice and it makes me nuts! I’m glad she loves her Mom. It’s great! But love her inside your house!!

I had plans this morning of taking my coffee and my book, and going outside to sit on the balconey and relax. It’s a gorgeous, perfect weekend, weatherwise, and likely to be one of the few remaining ones we’ll have. I was just finishing up with email (computer is right off the balconey), and getting ready to go……when I hear, “Morning Mom!” *shutting all my windows*

Dinner Update

I like this guy! And yes….he finally put on a t-shirt and shorts, so the tatoos have been exposed. Sarah had to do a LOT of talking to get him to do that, but he has now! Heh!

He’s been spending the last 1/2 hour visiting with Ben, Ben has been teaching him to play guitar. Hubby is so impressed he’s letting them take his Jeep out tonight.

I bought wireless headphones for the TV in our bedroom. This should save the life of DA. I always watch TV when I go to bed. He falls asleep instantly, and SNNNNNNOOOOOOOORRESSSSSSSS!! I want to do serious bodily harm to him when he does that. Once I quit watching TV, I stuff in ear plugs, and I manage to sleep. NOW I can watch TV and not hear a DAMN thing!!! Also, the sound of the TV won’t keep him awake. (As IF! He’s so full of shit!)

Lunch Update…

I made chicken fettucini for lunch, and got to visit with him more. He’s a really nice guy. So far I like him fine, and I got him to laugh and open up a lot more, so I think he’s comfortable now.

We were talking about lifting weights, and working out and things like that, and he said he’d love to get into serious body building, but he’d have to take steroids, and he didn’t think he wanted to do that! Before I even thought, I blurted out, “OH don’t do that, your NUTS will shrink!!” *smacks head* I swear to god those two had fetuccini comiong out their noses! (so much for ME making a good impression).

Apparently he has a couple of tatoos. One being fairly large on his shoulder. On his Dad’s advice, he’s wearing long sleeve shirts all weekend to keep it concealed from the girlfriend’s parents! LMAO… It’s nearly 80 degrees here! My goal is to see that tatoo before the weekend is over! HEH! (You all know I’ll do it too!) As if we care about tatoos! Sarah has a flaming maple leaf just above her ass, and hubby says he’d get one if he could find a place on his body that wouldn’t grow, or just cover it up with hair!

Quick First Impression

I made muffins and fresh fruit and cheese for breakfast and worked out, now I’m going for a shower, so this must be quick as I don’t want to get “caught” in my skanky, sweaty workout clothes when they get back!

He’s tall, he’s very fit, and he’s a good looking young man. Quiet, polite, doesn’t SMOKE (yay!!) and made his BED this morning! *faint*

Friday Five

1. Are you going to school this year? Yes, I am. I work as a special needs assistant, mostly with autistic and behavior disordered children and have done so for 12 years.

2. If yes, where are you going (high school, college, etc.)? If no, when did you graduate? I work in an elementary school. K-6 I graduated in 1976 (shaddup to those of my reads that were born than year or AFTER!)

3. What are/were your favorite school subjects? Gym of course! (I was a jockette!) LOL

4. What are/were your least favorite school subjects? Oh lord I nearly required a special needs assistant in Math and Chem, but I rocked in Biology.

5. Have you ever had a favorite teacher? Why was he/she a favorite? My favorite teacher was our gym teacher in grade 12. Because he was the boys basketball coach, I played basketball with him every afternoon, and he was might EASY on the eyes!!!!

…..do we now understand where my son gets his scholarly tendencies???????

Sharing the love….

Go over and say Happy Birthday to Kat! Just in case her family forgets! Heh! Tina has a beautiful new design. I love it! The twins should be here I would think! Hope all went smoothly for Mom and babes! I can’t believe the beautiful images Stephanie seems to make almost daily!! (actually I can believe it, as she’s the most talented woman I know!) The fatty ratties are actually pretty cute! Gaile is in wallpaper hell and is trying to solicit help. Heh! Trish just bought some brand new beautiful wheels! Gina has a weekend without hubby! Good or bad? You decide! Susan is having trouble hanging her pictures properly.

And now I must go workout, shower, go for groceries and then do some laundry. Thankfully our “guest” doesn’t get here until the middle of the night.

Back To School

The school secretary called me yesterday to ask if I was attending the welcome back “thing” for our school district (NO!) and Hazel called today, so I guess it’s official. We go back to work on Tuesday. What a scarey thought! *shudders* Actually it will be good. I need some routine back in my life, and somewhere to go so that I leave this yard more than once/week!

I finished the last closet in the house today. It was the linen closet. I cleared out a bunch of 25 year old towels and put them in a box marked “FOR KIDS - WHEN THEY MOVE OUT I CAN’T WAIT!”

I have the horrid laundry room to do and then I’m completely finished. I don’t know if I’ll make it or not!

Sarah has a new boyfriend. She’s only been going out with him for a week. He’s another army man, but at least this one doesn’t DRINK! He’s coming into the City for the weekend, so I told Sarah he could stay here. So I’m going to spend my last weekend of freedom playing hostess to a stranger with a bad haircut. *sigh* The things we do for our kids!

Ben is going on an guys overnight to a friend’s cabin. Should be interesting. I’m sure I don’t want to hear all about it.

Hubby is possibly going away with 7 other guys on a 3 night/4 day golf weekend to Vancouver. I so sympathize with Miss Divina!! I was off for 2 whole months. Because of the fact that I’m unemployed for the summer (meaning no paycheque), I make most every attempt to not spend a lot of money while I’m off. Consequently I don’t do too much in the way of “entertainment”. Glad to see that the same holds true for him!

Fall…..

I can’t believe how quickly the seasons can change! For weeks, it was TOO hot, humid, rainless, and pretty much generally annoying. Then overnight, fall arrived! The difference is just amazing!

Guess that means sooner or later I should get up a fall design.

I spent some time this morning chatting with a long lost friend from Chicago. Must have been my spider senses tingling or something, as I rarely use my IM’s any more. A friend was really needed, so I’m glad I got in touch!!
