Whew! It’s hot today! I think it’s around 90 degrees which is VERY hot for here. I’ve been out painting all day, so I’m exhausted!
I was wearing a bikini top too, so I’m burned as well, although nothing like the last time! I stained the upstairs balcony, and then I oiled all the patio furniture (it’s like teak, so it has to be done every year). I had lunch, a shower, and now I’m going to go COLLAPSE!

We are finally having a nice, warm weekend, so I got outside and mowed the grass, weeded, watered and fertilized all my flowers. Washed the outside windows, and hosed down all the lawn furniture again so that it is ready to oil as soon as I get up the ambition to do so.
I’ve had lunch, a shower, and now I’m going to be a lump!
Well if today is any indication of what lies ahead for me this summer, I’m HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY! I thoroughly enjoyed my first day off! Couldn’t have been better!
At Heathrow airport today an individual, later discovered to be a public school teacher was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a compass, a protractor, and a graphing calculator.
Authorities believe he is a member of the notorious Al-gebra movement.
He is being charged with carrying weapons of math instruction.
Today is a day of great joy, and a day of great sadness for me. I’m thrilled to have survived another school year full of challenges, and wonderful achievements. I’m looking forward to a summer off to get my batteries re-charged, so I’m fit, ready and healthy to face next year’s work which will be the most challenging assignment I’ve had in 3 years.
BUT……today is day that my heartstrings are going to be tugged very hard! We have to say goodbye to my little Andrew today. This is his last day in our school. I love this little guy! He makes the days so much brighter. From the minute I walk in the door in the morning and hear that familiar “Hi Beb!” he makes me smile. He has given me so many laughs over the past 5 years, many of which I’ve shared with you, he makes work fun! I can’t begin to tell you how much I’ll miss him.

No I haven’t. There are a couple of people I would love to meet.
A man fell asleep on the beach under the noon day sun and suffered a severe sunburn to his legs and was taken to the hospital.
His skin had turned a bright red and was very painful and had started to blister. Anything that touched his legs caused agony. The Doctor on duty in the emergency room checked him out and then prescribed continued intravenous feedings of water and electrolytes, a mild sedative and Viagra.
Rather astounded, the intern who was with the Doctor inquired, “What good will Viagra do him in that condition?”
The Doctor replied, “It’ll keep the sheet off his legs.”
