There was a preacher whose wife was expecting a baby. The preacher went to the congregation and asked for a raise. After much consideration and discussion, they passed a rule that whenever the preacher’s family expanded, so would his paycheck. After 6 children, this started to get expensive and the congregation decided to hold another meeting to discuss the preacher’s pay. There was much yelling and bickering about how much the clergyman’s additional children were costing the church. Finally, the preacher got up and spoke to the crowd, “having children is an act of God!” Silence fell on the congregation. In the back of the room, a little old man stood up and in his frail voice said …. “snow and rain are also acts of God, but when we get too much, we wear rubbers.

I woke up this morning to about 6 inches of snow, with more coming down. Yuck! I guess Ben’s first outdoor soccer practice tonight is cancelled! Sheesh!

It was nice to have the work week come to an end yesterday. Friends of ours had us over for supper last night for my birthday. It’s the same day as their son’s (one of Ben’s best friends), so she does this every year. We had a really good time. Such nice ppl, and we never see them anymore since Ben doesn’t play hockey with Kyle now.

Today I got off to a fairly lazy start, and then Ben and I went into Edmonton and bought him some new work shoes, sandals, and soccer cleats. I worked out, had a nice soak in the hot tub, and then got laundry going. Now I’m going to be a lump!

The weather is GROSS today. Cold, and very windy. Kind of rainy too. I wish it would just pour if it’s going to be so ugly out. Might as well get some moisture out of it all. Instead all we’ve been doing is chasing lawn furniture around the yard! It’s supposed to……….SNOW tomorrow. Grrrrrrrr

Stephanie, Vicki is turning into a BEAUTIFUL young woman! What a knockout!

A priest wanted to raise money for his church and on being told there was a fortune in horse racing, decided to purchase one and enter it in the races. However, at the local auction, the going price for a horse was so high that he ended up buying a donkey instead. He figured that since he had it, he might as well go ahead and enter it in the races. To his surprise, the donkey came in third. The next day the local paper carried this headline:

PRIEST’S ASS SHOWS.

The priest was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again, and this time it won. The local paper read:

PASTOR’S ASS OUT FRONT.

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the priest not to enter the donkey in another race. The next day, the local paper headline read:

BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR’S ASS.

This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the priest to get rid of the donkey. The priest decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent.

The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline the next day:

NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN.

The Bishop fainted. He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey, so she sold it to a farmer for ten dollars. The next day, the paper read:

NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10.

This was too much for the Bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild. The next day the headlines read:

NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.

The Bishop was buried the next day.

Hubby was too excited about my birthday present, so he gave it to me tonight. Pretty cool! The picture is just beautiful, and now I can watch DVD’s!

The kids gave me a really cute tank top/boxer pj set with matching slippers from LaSenza and Mom gave me some money so I hit my favorite store and they had a sale on capris, so I got 3 pairs, with 3 tops to go with them, so I’m pretty much set for the nice weather!

We had a very nice Easter. Hubby and Ben worked most of the day, so Sarah and I tidied up and did some things around the house and the yard. Sarah went and picked up some groceries for dinner, and then helped me get things ready. We invited her boyfriend Ryan, and hubby’s parents out for dinner. I bbq’d a salmon, did potatoes, caesar salad, cauliflower with cheese sauce, carrots, fried mushrooms, garlic/cheese toast and hubby did the steaks when he got home. Then we made an angel food cake with a whipped cream/lemon/yogurt topping …. yummy! The weather was so nice and warm and sunny that we were able to sit outside on the patio and have coffee after supper. How nice!!! I LOVE the warm weather, and it’s supposed to be even nicer tomorrow!

This new bf of Sarah’s seems like a real good guy. Very friendly and outgoing. He’s also very brave! He’s 1 year away from becoming a golf pro, and he plans to teach Sarah to golf this summer. May the force be with him!!! I’ll post pictures tomorrow.
