Saturday morning

Yesterday I spent most of the day shopping with a girlfriend from work. We had GREAT success! We went to one of the nearby shopping malls in Edmonton, and wandered through a couple of stores. About the third store we went into, “Bellissima”, I found several dresses to try on. (the mission was to find a dress for me to wear to Sarah’s graduation in 2 weeks) Third outfit I tried on… I loved and I bought! LOL…. simple! It’s a three piece lilac outfit. Very dressy, has a floor-length flowing skirt, with two layers, several slits on the outer layer. A clingy, dressy tank to show off my new waistline, and then a matching little jacket. Very sharp and comfy! I’ll take pictures when the day comes. One thing I discovered when trying on clothes is that since my weightloss, my shape has INVERTED! You lose weight from the top down, and is that ever evident in my half-way-to-goal body! I’ve always had really broad shoulders and narrow hips (but good sized ass). Now I have a pear-shaped thing happening (until I lose the remainder of my weight, which is at 25 pounds). I need 2 sizes smaller than pre-diet on the top, and about 1 size smaller on the bottom. Really screwy…Nasty actually! Damn full length mirrors!

Then it was off to find shoes. Now my feet are more futzed than my body! I have square feet. nasty.. huh?!! Seriously, I’m flat-footed, my hips and knees turn in so my feet lean inwards … no arches to speak of… need a 9D. You cannot find “pretty” shoes that go on my feet! Not to mention that most people have these toes that look like fingers. My footprint looks like grapes. I must thank my father and his entire lineage since the earliest Viking moved to Minnesota for these retarded feet! I must add that they also hurt like hell if not in good shoes! At one point I asked the clerk if she could just dye the shoe box lilac and strap that on my feet, as it was the right shape! Anyways, again I found shoes after hitting about 3 stores. I bought those. In my travels, I found a wonderful pair of Ecco sandals which I bought just for casual summer wear. I have 3 different styles of Eccos now. They are the first shoe I’ve found that look decent and feel like heaven on my poor feet! They are pricey though! $160/pair usually, but worth every penny!

Then we went on the hunt to find something for Ben to wear to her grad. I found him a very reasonably priced suit at Sears. He still fits in a boys 16, so the price was okay. The shirt and tie the lady sold me looked like heck on him though, so those things need to be exchanged for something more “trendy”.

Hubby already had bought 2 new suits as he’s going to San Francisco on business next week for 5 days (poor guy… hmmmmph!) and after the trip, he’ll just put the one suit aside for grad. When I stopped to pick the suits up from being altered, I also got him 3 new casual shirts, and golf shorts. This is the downside to losing weight…. nothing fits any more. So hubby and Ben both need new shoes, and I need a new handbag, and then I think we’re fairly ready. Sarah’s boyfriend, Grant is going shopping today for his duds.

Wow I haven’t been around much! Gotta catch up with everyone! Kimbley had me rolling on the floor this morning with her tails of hairy legs and the latest escapades of Francois (the geriatric poodle) WHOO HOOO!! Moni is back! Awww another new read that should prove to be most entertaining! You certainly do rock girl!

Thanks Bev! I’m pretty proud of myself… I studied my butt off and it was good to have my hard work pay off in such a big way.
