Monday morning

Hmmmm Sunday seemed to bypass unnoticed around here, as I was battling computer troubles again. This is without doubt the buggiest system around. Grrrr. Everything seems to be working again now, except my CD writer, the installation disk isn’t working suddenly. Oh well, I’ll worry about that later.

Now I’ve got a sore throat and head cold. Woke up with it on Saturday, much to my disgust! I barely got over that bout with bronchitis. Blah! Tonight I have to pack up hubby’s bag, as he’s off on a business trip to San Francisco (poor thing) for the week. All I can say is…. BRING GIFTS!

Saturday morning

Yesterday I spent most of the day shopping with a girlfriend from work. We had GREAT success! We went to one of the nearby shopping malls in Edmonton, and wandered through a couple of stores. About the third store we went into, “Bellissima”, I found several dresses to try on. (the mission was to find a dress for me to wear to Sarah’s graduation in 2 weeks) Third outfit I tried on… I loved and I bought! LOL…. simple! It’s a three piece lilac outfit. Very dressy, has a floor-length flowing skirt, with two layers, several slits on the outer layer. A clingy, dressy tank to show off my new waistline, and then a matching little jacket. Very sharp and comfy! I’ll take pictures when the day comes. One thing I discovered when trying on clothes is that since my weightloss, my shape has INVERTED! You lose weight from the top down, and is that ever evident in my half-way-to-goal body! I’ve always had really broad shoulders and narrow hips (but good sized ass). Now I have a pear-shaped thing happening (until I lose the remainder of my weight, which is at 25 pounds). I need 2 sizes smaller than pre-diet on the top, and about 1 size smaller on the bottom. Really screwy…Nasty actually! Damn full length mirrors!

Then it was off to find shoes. Now my feet are more futzed than my body! I have square feet. nasty.. huh?!! Seriously, I’m flat-footed, my hips and knees turn in so my feet lean inwards … no arches to speak of… need a 9D. You cannot find “pretty” shoes that go on my feet! Not to mention that most people have these toes that look like fingers. My footprint looks like grapes. I must thank my father and his entire lineage since the earliest Viking moved to Minnesota for these retarded feet! I must add that they also hurt like hell if not in good shoes! At one point I asked the clerk if she could just dye the shoe box lilac and strap that on my feet, as it was the right shape! Anyways, again I found shoes after hitting about 3 stores. I bought those. In my travels, I found a wonderful pair of Ecco sandals which I bought just for casual summer wear. I have 3 different styles of Eccos now. They are the first shoe I’ve found that look decent and feel like heaven on my poor feet! They are pricey though! $160/pair usually, but worth every penny!

Then we went on the hunt to find something for Ben to wear to her grad. I found him a very reasonably priced suit at Sears. He still fits in a boys 16, so the price was okay. The shirt and tie the lady sold me looked like heck on him though, so those things need to be exchanged for something more “trendy”.

Hubby already had bought 2 new suits as he’s going to San Francisco on business next week for 5 days (poor guy… hmmmmph!) and after the trip, he’ll just put the one suit aside for grad. When I stopped to pick the suits up from being altered, I also got him 3 new casual shirts, and golf shorts. This is the downside to losing weight…. nothing fits any more. So hubby and Ben both need new shoes, and I need a new handbag, and then I think we’re fairly ready. Sarah’s boyfriend, Grant is going shopping today for his duds.

Wow I haven’t been around much! Gotta catch up with everyone! Kimbley had me rolling on the floor this morning with her tails of hairy legs and the latest escapades of Francois (the geriatric poodle) WHOO HOOO!! Moni is back! Awww another new read that should prove to be most entertaining! You certainly do rock girl!

Thursday afternoon

Today’s Highlight in History:

On April 26, 1986, the world’s worst nuclear accident occurred at the Chernobyl plant in the Soviet Union. An explosion and fire killed at least 31 people and sent radioactivity into the atmosphere.

Thursday morning

This is WEIGH Better!

I’ve been so busy trying to catch up with things since I got back, that I am still far behind in bloggerville. Today is my last doay of work for the week though, so hopefully over the next 3 days I can actually accomplish something! Tomorrow I’m going with a girlfriend from work to shop for my “grad” dress. Ugghhhhh…. if you start feeling good about yourself… one sure way to fix that, is to go shopping and be surrounded by full-length mirrors…. ewwwwwww!

Tuesday morning

Hello everyone! I’m back. We had a really nice trip. The weather was warm and spring-like on Friday and Saturday, but then turned rainy and grey on Sunday and Monday. However, it was nice to get away! Friday we did a lot of walking around the harbor in downtown Victoria, toured the wax museum, which creeped me out, as I’m certain George W. Bush was staring at me! We had lunch, went back to the room, changed, went to the fitness room and worked out and enjoyed the hot tub for an hour (I know…. sick), rested, went out for dinner and toured around some more.

On Saturday we got up bright and early and drove out to Nanaimo after breakfast. We walked around there quite a while, and decided it would be a wonderful little place to retire! Then we took a ferry over to Gabriolla Island. It was like being in an old hippy colony. Very interesting! I could live there! (they have Shaw @home internet… I checked). Of course after our rapid tour, we had to dash back to the hotel to watch the Oilers’ heartbreaking defeat. Good thing we were on vacation… it didn’t upset hubby near as much as it would have had he been at home! LOL

Sunday, we worked out first thing in the morning, showere, did the breakfast thing and then did a bunch of shopping. We bought way too many gifts to bring home for the kids, and I got a web cam for my birthday from hubby! I think the quality sucks, or I don’t have it set up right yet, but it will still be fun. We rented some movies and got comfy in the room in the rain, and watched “Castaway” and “Miss Congeniality”. We really enjoyed Castaway!

Monday, again we worked out before breakfast, did a bit more shopping, and then basically packed up and headed for the airport. The kids picked us up… they had a birthday present for me…. great new PJ’s from La Senza (my favorite store!) The house was clean as could be, and Ben even had a great report card to show us, so I’d say the weekend was a success! (Even though I put on 4 pounds… *wink*)

PS====>Thanks to all for the birthday cards, and good wishes! Special thanks to Gina!!

Thursday morning….

I’ve finally caught up on all my regular reads I think, after several days of not reading many. I’ve got some new people to add, and still some more tweaking to do with both redesigns. New links, tweaks, etc. will have to wait, as I need to finish paying bills and doing the banking. After work, I’m going to go for a haircut, do laundry, vacuum, workout, shower, make supper, and then pack. We leave on our trip at 6:00 am tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it, but I’m a little anxious about it all. Number one: I hate travelling. Number two: I’m leaving two teenagers (18 and 14) home alone in my house for 4 days! Number three: Hubby and I haven’t been a way on a trip alone in 20 years!! I think we’ll bore each other to bits! LOL time will tell and I’ll have a report and hopefully pics on Monday night…. if my house is still standing!

Happy Birthday Tiffany! Hope this upcoming year is much calmer for you and your family! Anytime Sunshine!
