- For the record,
I do NOT want to go back to work! #
My inner child is playing with matches.
Well “my part” of Christmas is over. I was the Queen of Procrastination this year, I think largely due to our Vegas trip the first week of December. It seemed to really tire me out! Especially when we returned to absolutely frigid temperatures! It’s bee in -20C to -30C ever since we returned. The dogs haven’t been able to hardly step outside to pee without a kick in the butt, it’s so cold!
I ended up doing all my decorating, house cleaning, wrapping and cooking all in this last week after I got finished with school. I’ve had basically no Christmas Fa La La La this year, and I think that’s why I kept dragging my ass!
Anyways it all got finished on time (just the nick of time). Sarah and Jay arrived with Kehei (their Siberian Husky pup - 6 months old) on Monday evening. I was REALLY dreading the pups visit, even though she’s a beautiful dog, because my dogs HATE her, and the last time she was here, it was just one fight after another, and we spent the whole time separating them! I knew this time would 10 times worse, because she’s that much bigger, and my dogs have been pretty much cooped up non-stop for 3 weeks! It was every bit as stressful as I thought it would be. Kehei even ended up biting Jay when he went to pull her off of Teebo. Wicket, our smaller dog (in the pic), was just plain scared! Teebo and the huskey kept duking it out for dominance, and it was a PITA! Sarah and Jay ended up pretty stressed about it all too. They live on a farm, so she is outside mostly, and has the run of the farm, so this was hard for her too!
Ben and Jessica went to Kelowna to spend Christmas with her family for the first time, so it was very odd not to have him home. I really missed him, and I think he’s found it pretty strange as well!
My Mom and brother came out last night, and we had a really nice time in spite of all the Griswald Christmas things that happened throughout the evening. We had bruschetta, and creamy fiesta dip, and antipasto during happy hour. Then we had steak, lobster, broccoli salad, macaroni salad, spinach strawberry salad, swedish potatoes and lefsa for dinner, and it all turned out fabulous!
We opened gifts, and that was about it for the night. Mom went and stayed at my brothers for the night. They came back this morning, and I cooked a big brunch. They left shortly after, and now we’re going in with Sarah and Jay to the in-law’s for turkey dinner with my SIL. Then it’s DONE!
I hope to continue posting now again in the new year. I’m ALWAYS on facebook, and the little posts you see here, are my tweets on twitter.
Merry Christmas one and all!
Must go prepare Christmas brunch, so Merry Christmas to all!
